Residential Programme for school children
Bharata Vidya Sibiram, a one month residential programme was conducted by Sri Vishnu Educational Society in collaboration with Dartmouth college, an Ivy league University (U.S.A) for meritorious students studying VII Class in Zilla Parishad, Municipal and Private schools under Bhimavaram division. The students were selected purely on merit basis by conducting an entrance test. A total of 381 students from 21 schools took the Vidya Sibiram entrance test. Out of these, 50 students who topped the list were selected for the programme. During the period of one month, students were taught English, Telugu, Mathematics, Robotics, Yoga, Sports and Games and Indian Heritage by Dr.Prasad Jayanthi, Professor, Dartmouth College together with his team. The programme has been a tremendous success with the students being exposed to as advanced a subject as robotics and at the same time instilling in them a respect for our Indian heritage, culture and traditions.
